Machinery Purpose:
In the steel mill process this unit is called a looper. The unit helps keeps tension on a red hot bar in the steel making process.
How it Works:
Entry and exit rolls guide the bar while a persuader roll lifts and puts tension on the bar. Water sprays on the unit to keep rolls and equipment cool.
Machinery Features:
- Water spray system.
- Air oil system to keep rolls and bearing lubricated.
- Adjustable cradles to help with roll setting and maintenance.
Task:
Precision Metal Group was awarded the work by One Steel, keeping it local, and was tasked to work alongside One Steel to help simplify and develop a prototype, followed by 12 new units.
